Do you perform maintenance on your bike(s)?

I perform maintenance and troubleshoot on all our vehicles (two cars and two bikes). I have manuals for all and working for an Tier 1 Automotive Supplier helps with regard to getting trouble codes evaluated. I will perform any job that I feel comfortable doing as long as I have the proper tools to do it. I really won't get into any major engine repair (especially car) though.
However, I won't take my vehicles to any mechanic unless I have pinpointed the problem first. That's where the ability to scan my vehicles at work helps alot. I am currently driving my Caprice with some sort of idle problem that I refuse to take in to my mechanic. That would be right up his alley, vehicle repair with no known cause of the problem equals $$$$$$. No thanks, it'll be warm enough for me to do some troubleshooting soon enough.

Vehiccles...with 4 wheels..most of it.. the bike, only small maintiance due to how much work it is to get to the bare motor versus a car. spark plugs on the Z1000 require a lot of moving stuff, Naked bikes cram everything over the top of motor and make the moor a chore to get to the plugs and such.,

Pretty much everything but mounting tires. I have tire irons, but the last time I used them there was so much cussing the neighbors brought the kids inside and my wife thought I was gonna have a stroke.
My bikes are easy to work on because they have centerstands. The Suzuki uses shims on top of the buckets and the Honda uses threaded valve adjusters. The spark plugs are easy to get to, the carbs are difficult to get off and on the Suzuki because of the backbone, but the Honda's are easy. The Honda even uses a hinged gas tank and strut to make a synch easy. The Suzuki's oil filter is easy, but the Honda's fairing has to come off. I learned by working on two-strokes.

I'll do anything that isn't covered under my maintenace plan or warranty work. I did all my after market stuff. I'd say the hardest one was routing the front SS lines through the guides down by the horn. Very minimal space to work with. Then again I haven't done any engine work. I got a maintenance plan so my dealer does all that.

So far I have done all my own work, and been able to help out my friends too. We'll see how far I get if I ever have to brake the motor open?
Yeah I do most of the work on my friends bikes because they don't have a maintenance plan like I do. I just changed my buddies oil the other day. I can't wait til I get my bike back from the shop so I can put my aftermarket stuff I ordered from ebay on it.
