i know this is a mc forum lol but i need to know something


my friend said that he can get me some 2 - 3 inch pipes for my exhaust and can install it with me.....can you just do that ??? and will it sound good?? please help a brotha out :dthumb:

if it's a V8 it will sound nice. If the pipes (nuts and bolts) aren't rusted you should be able to find an exhaust kit for the truck and "just" do it. Keep in mind it is a vehicle and nothing ever goes as planned or "just" as you put it. Don't forget gaskets.

Personally I like deep purring exhausts and the little four banger doesn't have enough balls to produce that sound. It will sound high pitched and stupid. If you think it will sound like a Honda, it won't. if it's free do it to test it out, or do it cuz it's free. It's good practice anyway. What kind of muffler is it?

well that is my question (it is stock)... my friend said we will just put 2 or 3 inch pipes on it... i will ask tomarow but what does that exactly meen ..... no muffler???? idk what the hell he talkin about??? but i dont really whant to do it if i not goin to like it b/c i will be at his house and i dont whant to bother his dad or anything...(we cool but i dont whant to look stupid)

What brand of Muffler(silencer)? You know like Flomaster or Magnaflow or Auto zone special. I bet you there's dakota forums out there. You should see if any one has 2-3 inch pipes on a four banger.

well idk but i need it to sound a lil better....i will be able to pour some money into it....but it has 108000 miles on it (highway miles) it was a company truck for a good company it runs decent

I've never looked into four banger exhausts for domestic trucks, so I wouldn't know how to make it sound good. Sounding good to me would be a blown 350 with headers glass packs and 3 inch ceramic pipes.

3 inch pipes are overkill on an average four cylinder. You will actually lose power. Leave it stock, its not worth tinkering with. Spend that time and effort on changing plugs, oil, and filters, that will do you better. If youre gonna touch your exhaust anyway, just do the muffler.

i did it i hack sawed right b/4 the muffler and now i am goin to put some other ones on tomrow.......sound furkin awsome until you get to high of a rev or let the gas go and it back fires like a mo fo but we are going to fix that tomarow!!


either getting this old muffler off my friend poniac or goin to get a good one off my buddy (his dad owns a muffler shop i get a LITTLE discount)

Two words for you bull - open headers. Don't shift past 2nd gear and ride through town like that.. Chicks dig open headers.. Once you get past your first noise infraction you will feel much better.. DO IT! :luck:
