I buy NOTHING at Wal-Mart. I don't like their business practices and most of the crap they have there I don't need or can get somewhere else. Haven't been in one in a year and I have more extra cash than before without all those impulse buys on junk I don't need. They are putting in a new one near here and found a bunch of Illegals working on the construction. Shut the whole job down and another bunch of good people are out of a job since Wal-mart couldn't be bothered to hire Americans to do the job. Screwem. They get 0 dollars from me!!

I feel better now. Those guys just really crank me up.

i can't help but love my walmart. it's practically the only store i shop at. it's one stop shopping. why should i pay more elsewhere? they always have the lowest prices. i actually don't know where i shopped before walmart came here. it's only been in our area for like 10 years. it's completely changed my life! i don't care if they performed virgin sacrifices in store, i would still shop there. i even have their credit card. all hail walmart.

Wal-Mart was once a small town company too. They took advantage of supply and demand and if mom and pop kettle can't do the same, then sorry find something else to do. This is capitalism, not communism.

The problem is, as explained in the JibJab cartoon, is that as you spend your money there on the imported stuff that you are cutting american's throats. It just a indirect way of doing it.

Now I'm not trying to get a huge debate opened up here, or start any type of name calling.... let's just say this is my comical version of a Jetskifast thread. Trying to open the eyes of some people that we are throwing our own economy into a downward spiral.... we are doing it to our selves.

For God's sake... we need to try to respect ourselves as a whole better! :pat:

This is really a neverending battle. We want to buy things made by Americans, but no one wants to pay for it. That is the problem with freedom, we choose our own destiny.

We are suppose to say Happy Holidays at work and we are not suppose to call our christmas tree a christmas tree, but call it a holiday tree.
That's just to politically correct. :2cents:

If I can I try to go to local owned business, but I end up going to Wall Mart for a lot of stuff. My theory is that if everybody went to wall mart then smaller stores would go under and people would be out of a job, but if everyone went to smaller places then wall mart would go under and people would be out of a job. Even though it's a chain store, it's still providing jobs in the area. Plus being such a big place it's bringing in other places like restaraunts, a gas station, maybe a few smaller shops around it like a blockbuster or something, which is more jobs. The wall mart around here has a farmer that always sells produce out of an old Ford. Wall Mart gives him a place to get good business at, so it can't be all bad.

:withstupi I try to do as much as I can. The important thing is that I have opened my mind to the idea that I'm trying to share!

And don't even get me started on the Christmas thing!! :cursin:

Bet you are looking forward to having your children work for Walmart ;)

Walmart business model forces suppliers to produce products in countries that pay cents per hour. Those few cents you save, costs Americans millions of good jobs :cursin: Walmart even found way to hire illegales for their store cleaning, use subcontractors who work them seven days week below min wage. Walmart is famous for screwing its workers on health coverage. If you need 40 hrs week for health coverage guess what you will be working? 39 hrs week. No problem Walmart has all the forms for you sign up for county welfare health care :cursin: At tax payer expence.
Anybody who has traveled in USA has seen damage Walmart has done to small and mid size towns. Walmart brings in its big $$$ then under cuts small guys to drive them out of business. Plenty of ghost towns located in downtown areas of Walmart towns.
Odd most of people who shop Walmart are the very ones hurt by Walmart  Even Hitler had his supporters

I save dollars on single items at walmart/sam's, not cents.

Welcome to life, it's not fair. If you don't like the way that they do business don't shop there. That's capitalism. You can't have it both ways, either choose freedom or choose restraint, because I for one would rather have wal-mart than live in a communist economy.

I will continue to shop at Walmart as they offer better pricing than the Meijer, Target, and Super K in my area. In regard to Walmart's business practices, do you think they are the only company operating as such? This practiced is utilized in the automotive industry everday, from the OEM to the Tier 1,2, & so on, supplier. How many parts do you think are actually "Made in America" that go into your GMs, DCXs, and Fords? If you're going to bring to light Walmarts practices than you might as well include every other company out there otherwise it's a mute point.

hey, at least i could get that great employee discount if they did. heck, i've even considered working there, since i practically live there anyways.

the reality of it all is this: as long as gas prices skyrocket and salaries dwindle, i am gonna have to stretch my $$ as far as i can. if i were rich, maybe it'd be different. but hey, i even get gas at the local muslim mart just to save about 5 cents a gallon. am i destructive to my country's economy? maybe, but i'm just trying to keep my head above water here. we hafta take care of ourselves because our government won't do it for us.

i apologize to all that are out of work due to my $2300 walmart credit card balance.
