Boyfriend has them, but he has the ones made in Hickory, NC, NOT Australia.

Long story short -- the inventor of them had a handshake agreement with the Australian manufacturer -- shared the name, the logo, the technology, etc... Then the inventor died, and his daughter now runs the company. The Australian company still manufactures them, but not to the same specs as the American company. Their sizing is different, and the quality is suspect.

Here's a link to the REAL Draggin' Jeans:

They have 3 different styles for men, 3 different styles for women, and are VERY well made. Excellent amount of protection (we were actually just shopping for more of them down in Daytona on Monday), and great fit.

That is correct.

Icon offers armoured camo cargo pants if that's what you're looking for (actually we posted up some for sale in the Classifieds section). But if you want to stick with Draggin' jeans, stick with the REAL ones, not the import variety. :dthumb:

I have used my pair of draggin jeans for over a year now strictly for commuting. The jean is reinforced in the knee & butt area and is also considerably thicker compared to regular jeans. It'll probably last a little bit longer upon contact with the concrete but I feel that it would still be useless if you don't strap on a pair of knee armor under it. It'll keep you warm at night and offer better abrasion protection compared to regular jeans but you can't really compare them to textile/leather pants. In the end, it all comes down to your preference of versatility vs. protection since you'll pay $70-80 for a pair of draggin jean while an extra $20 will get you bulkier textile or close-out leather pants.

With that mentality Samurai... you might as well get some chaps!
I would if I look good in it  I am convinced that draggin jean and knee armor is good enough for normal commuting since I've seen a rider went down in a 40mph lowside and came up unscathed... I'll always be in my leathers when doing the twisties though.

I have personally never cared for any of the jean gear. To much false security emphasized. I do have friends that wear them and some similar Icon stuff most every outing. They seem to really like them for versatility and looks. Wish I could help more.

Here's my POV on this: Is leather best? Yes. Are you going to talk ALL riders into wearing ALL leather at ALL times? Nuh uh.

SOME gear is better than no gear, IMHO. I'm rather see someone head out in some Draggin' Jeans and a Mesh jacket than shorts and flipflops ANY day.

Here in Florida, easily 3/4 of the riders wear little if any gear... so if there's something that's a bit more comfortable, versatile and stylish that might convince them to protect their flesh a bit, I'm all for it. :dthumb:
