My first clue was the fact that the email address this was sent to is not the one I have registered at eBay. The wording of this email is poor, "Please update your records in maximum 24 hours." I'm sure eBay does not terminate account for out-of-date information, and the URL listed is not a secure URL (https).

I'm sure there are other clues, but those are the major ones that stick out. Be careful!

uumm..yeah..Billing Dept. Team ?? :bash: Im thinking a big fat NO!! I was getting regular bogus emails there for awhile, telling me to update my paypal info, but it wasnt this one, and like mentioned above, it wasnt even sent to my proper email address! :bash:

Me and Matt both found other scams on eBay when we were looking to get our bikes. "Buy a brand new 2004 GSXR1000 for $3500.00". Him and I would email these ppl and see what the have to offer. It shows on eBay that the bike is here in the states but when you email them they tell you they just moved to Bangcock or some $hit like that. They all had the same M.O. You would think if they were going to run a scam they would change it up and not use the same email that they send you and your buddy right beside you who is asking someone diffrent and getting the same email. Word for word but trying to say they are in a diff location then the other person is. Do they really think we are all that stupid. We should just find them and :bash: all their heads.

The email on your account goes around all the time. EBay wants you to forward it to [email protected]

any genious who would actually send their credit card info, via email to anybody, needs their head examined. :crazy: go to the secure site where you always have b/4 for the company, and update any info there if necessary. never never ever, via email, or thru a link via email, unless you are 100% positive where it came from..and even then be skeptical. :skep:
