Besides the occasional stones that get kicked up from the cagers and big trucks that smack you right in the face shield and scare you half outta your mind for a second...did you ever get hit with anything or by anything ? The occasional bird, bat, debris from a truck in front of you?

I've heard many stories from friends of how they were following a car or truck and debris would fly back at them, especially from flat bed trailors and dump trucks.

Buddy of mine got hit by a pheasant once, caught him right in the chest!! He said the thing just flew outta nowhere and ran into him! Fortunately he was able to save it, and not wreck, but it did leave a nice mark on his leathers and scared the wits outta him!

Damn. Never a large bird like that but I have hit a bat before. It came down and flew right into the top part of the sheild. Mde my head jar back a bit. :lol:

Nothing but rocks so far. However, when a rock hits your helmet, it sure makes you glad that you're actually wearing a helmet. Can you imagine what that rock would feel like if you didn't have the lid on? I've had rocks hit me even on a short ride, not even going very fast. You NEVER know when that could happen.

Yeah, it's mostly been rocks and dirt for me so far as well. It's scarey when you get smacked in the shield with one of those things, but also just as bad in a different way, when you hear it hit the front of your bike, and just know it put a nice big ding in your fairing or fender!! I definately want to chase them down !!! :rant:

I hit my friends 20 oz bottle of pepsi. Freaky ****, thought I was goin down for sure... It flew out from under his seat somehow.. on a older kz1000, and was like spiralin down the road at about the same speed... Well I was behind, and I would move left, and that bastard would move left right with, back right, so does the bottle, just spinnin away goin down the road like a torpedo. Finally made one last cut left at the last second, missed it with the front tire but nailed it with the rear.... rear tire popped up about a foot and kicked to the side a little, near high side when it came back down, but luckily it just fell right back in line with a little bit of a jerk. scary stuff!


oh, and beside that, all I have to say and i'm sure some of you can agree...

Had teenager ridding motorized skateboard hit my front right section on my F650GS doing 35 MPH. Knocked bike over on left side, me and bike slid down roadway about 100FT. Lucky for me wearing full leathers no road rash, bike fell on my left knee with no major injury just swollen and stiff knee for 9 months.
As I picked my bike up kid got up and took off, looked like he had broken his shoulder :rant: Turned out kid taking off was a blessing, no worry of lawsuit plus Police wrote up accident as hit and run.

in with ya on rain, ive ridden to work in sunny weather.. came out to rain... being a short cummute no gloves...it feels like needles when its a light little drop when it sprinkles and u go 90 or so.
Otherwise i feel lucky nothign big, close to some Jaybirds flying into my at 100+, within a foot or so.. braced for em and expected it to feel like someone throwing a basketball at my head... so im happy they were just close calls.

A Pheasant....ouch id be close ot pissing on my self on that one if i was going fast enough. lol

I've been ridin with a friend when he got a hornet stuck in his jacket... it probably stung him like 6 times before he could pull over and get it out... was hilarious ot watch while following!

i havnt got hit by anything really but one time a bee did get inside my lid somehow and stung me on the cheek while i was ridding. that sucked.

I know a guy who hit a seagull with one of those peanut shell helmets on... Seagulls beak caught him in the corner of his mouth and ripped it open almost to his ear... now he is one of those dudes who kinda only looks at you from his good side...

A few week ago I was hit by part of an exploding truck tire while traveling 80 mph of the highway. The truck was in the fast lane where I had closed on him and was waiting for him to complete a pass and move right when it happened. I actually saw the tire explode but never saw the part that hit me. Left a nice bruise on my shoulder.

WOW...good to hear that you only got a bruise and thats it. I saw a truck tire explode once before and it was a huge chunck that hit my car.

Yep. I was lucky. I wear an Aerostich Roadcrafter and the shoulder padding took much of the hit. Had a small black mark on my helmet as well.

Some guy threw a pop bottle out the window and hit me in the chest, turned around, gave chase and kicked his arse. Guess he thought he had enough buddies in the car to handle 7 bikes. He was wrong. Doubt hell do that again.

myself , just the regular bumble bees, stones etc...but i had a friend that got hit by a seagull ,as he was crossing a bridge at 60 mph in ipswich, and it took him right off the bike :crazy:
