Absolutely insane. I filled up with "Cowboys" gas, the cheapest chain around - 93 octane.

My SV's gas light was blinking so I had to give it almost a full tank, but damn. Just damn!

I remember filling my Honda CRX in college for that amount. :wbs:

How funny, although I started with the 50cc mini-trail, I then went to the SL 125 too and then the MR 175 in '76.

Then went on to street riding....'76 CB-360, thought that was such a fast bike back then.

It was like the first six speed bike and topped out at 85 or 90 mph.

Stop whining about gas prices everyone! I lived in Europe from 2001-2003 and back then it was about 1 Euro / liter. there are 3.8 liters in a gallon, so that works out to over $4.00/ gallon. Now it's probably between $6 and $8/gallon. It's not expensive here yet.

Yes it is

you know what kinda erks me is the fact that it doesn't raise a penny or two at a time, it's taking $0.10 jumps at a time.

Personally, I don't care what anyone else in the world is paying. I'm interested in the skyrocketing prices here. I know we still have it "good", but that doesn't mean it's not out of control here. Or, that I shouldn't complain.

In NJ it is illeagal to pump your own gas, no self serve anywhere, "But on the bike I do" Anyhow we are still about .25 cheaper than DE. self serve pumps. NJ is still one of the cheapest for gas and to me I think its high at $2.40 a gal. :willy:

After the SL, I went through a collection of dirt bikes from all jap brands to a Bultaco and even a Hodaka wombat. my next street bike was a 175 Bridgestone dual twin...it was a really good bike...after that one, I started riding and trading about every 3 or 4 months...On the plus side, out of all the bikes I have owned, only one was totalled...I am going to bring the hondamatic back from the farm over Labor Day when Snakemann and 99birdv6 go with me...

The gas prices are BS! $2.65-$2.75 here in Detroit right now.. Oh and BTW oil has gone down $7-$10 per barrel. Oh but when it goes up say $1 per barrel which might equate to like $0.000000001 raise per gallon for Exxon or the other sheisters they raise it $0.50 per gallon here. BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and Exxon released their latest earnings - UP 35%!!!!!!!!!! WTF! But on the other side of their double talk they say we are not "gouging" people with our gas prices we have to raise it because our costs are higher.. Kiss my entire white corn bread eating ass.. Up 35%??!??!?!?! Ludicrous! The government lets this go on in this time of a shiiiiiiiiiiiity economy. This is total BS. The oil companies and Saudis have us by the balls.. All we have is our complaining... Otherwise we can be like all the other good sheep in the herd and just take it and like it.. I don't live in Europe so I don't want to hear about it is so many euros per liter - if it is higher good then you no backing the United States bastards over in Europe deserve to pay more - THE ENTIRE EUROPEAN CONTINENT CAN KISS MY ASS with their stupid euros and their arrogant better than us attitude, etc. etc. Make sure you don't miss a spot when you kiss my ass after I run a mile in 3 pair of black sweatpants in the Baghdad 136 degree heat.. :wbs: :wbs: :wbs: :wbs: :wbs:

I'm with ya... I have to look out for #1...that's me!

Pippi....what I like to do is play a trick on your mind... fill the truck up at 1/2 tank and then it's only like $25-$30... feels a little better but you're back like 3 days later.... a mind trick!

But yeah, when I go out for a day of riding and it cost me like $20 in gas.... :nonod:

I just filled up my bike for the first time last saturday. It was bone dry (a drawn out but funny story ) I think at the time it was $2.65 for 91 octane. I filled it up to the top, and it only cost me a whopping $7.95or so. Quite a difference from a cager! Im sure $8.00 is expensive for a bike though.

Yea I filled up the ninja like I said before in another thread, I was like "Sweet, under $10.00!!! But then I realized its my bike and it only holds 3-4 gallons anyway. Gas shouldnt be this expensive if Exxon and other companies are making a 35% profit, and the price of a barrel is going down. I remember my seinor year in HS 4 years ago it was 99 cents a gallon for 87 octane! that was around summer time too!
