Well, I got out and rode to work for the first time today. A couple of minor incidents, no panics, made me want to slap drivers but overall it was AWESOME :D
My car is going to start feeling neglected very soon if this weather holds

How do you guys normally deal with gridlock and a driver (read: Dumptruck) that INSISTS on pulling up to within 2 feet of your rear tire at all times? Anyone know if it's legal to just pull off on the shoulder and then try to merge back in once he's passed?

make sure there is no one in front of you and then turn around look him or her in the eye and flip them the bird. or jsut pull the front brake so you know the light is on but not actually engaging. or go really really slow and then when he goes to pass, make sure there are no cops around and smoke his a$$. or pennies and little pebbles in a pocket work really well too, just flip them over your shoulder.

Last time some lady was riding my arse, we got to a stopkight and I turned around. I pointed to the rear of my bike and the front of her bumper then shrugged my shoulders like WTF?!

She backed off. :loser:

If none of that works... put it in nuetral, put the kick stand down, get off the bike and demenstrate the proper distance from your bike... or flaunt your hands/arms to signal them to back away!!

Several people have the same problem in vettes. It's like people are attracted to the backside. Of course, those same idiots ride EVERYONE'S ass, but we never really notice it when we're in an everyday driver that we don't care much about. However, several years ago a friend was in his vette when some guy kept driving too close. At a light, my friend got out of his car, walked back and knocked on the window of the truck, then asked the guy if it was possible to get any closer to the bumper. Good thing he wasn't in LA or he'd have been shot.

Like shanman said, Turning around and facing them usually works. Let them know you notice. Or pull up next to them and burn out all over em.
That's what I do and usually always works!!

I have stoped 20+ft from the light or stop sign and turned around so they knew what I was doing. They got the idea after that. :dthumb:

This is the opposite side of the coin.
I had a guy do that to me in town one day while I was driving the Peterbilt.
I could see his tail lights over my hood. While he was standing there beside me, I pulled up close enough that it would be hard to walk between. He gave me the finger and got back in his little sh!+y Hyundai. :cursin: At the next light I gave him a little more room. He looked back and gave me the finger again. :cursin: A few mile down the road he pulled into a BK and was at the drive through. I pulled into the BK also (just coincidence) and see his car. When he sees me he pulls out of line and leaves in a hurry.
