First long ride this weekend, atleast on a sport bike. Heading over to STL this weekend to do some fun riding this weekend. Then heading over to Terre Haute on monday for work then all the way back home to KC on Thursday. Got the throttlemeister installed a couple days ago for the boring sections. But should be fun.

well first half the trip went well, actually pretty darn fun. Had some great rodes along the Missouri river bottoms, unfortunatly my camera is in China with my wife so I don't have any pics. The trip over from St.Louis to Terre Haute was boring as hell across I-70, I stuck it at 90 and went, not even sure I had to turn except to vear off to a gas station once.

Only thing wrong I noticed was the front breaks were getting a little mooshy, probably need to bleed them when I get back home.

Anyone know of good places to ride in Terre Haute?

well just got back a little bit ago from my trip. Left Terre Haute today at 12:30 pulled into my house at 7:45pm, around 500 miles straight down I-70 with 3 gas stops. Man my rear hurts, and what a fricken boring drive.

Put about 1300 miles on the trip total across missouri and illinois. Pretty good scenery along the river route I took on the way there. Got to haul butt through some cool stretches of highway that were cut right through huge corn fields, I think I only excede the speed limit once, maybe twice  .

The FZ did great, didn't show any real sign of problems except it kept wanting to go faster. It's still nice to be home though, if this weather keeps up this weekend I'm going to do some "fun" riding for once.

So how is your rear tire?
I refuse to ride on the interstate or long straight road trips anymore. My rear tire just becomes flat in the center. If I go on a long trip with the bike I scout out back roads. Or I just put the bike in the bed of the truck and I ride when I get to my destination. I do buy soft race composit tires so they are really soft and I don't get the greatest mileage out of them, they are alot of $ but they save my @ss in the twisties.

yeah no doubt, pa is just full of those stretches of nothing but flat highway and the occasional hill. Its like pulling teeth to find some decent roads to ride on half the time.

Glad your home safe man, congrats on the road trip! :dthumb:

:iagree: I have to ride out atleast 40-50 miles or more on str8 road (interstate) just to get to some nice twisties. Once I get there it's all good, but then I still have the ride back.
