she can probably have a chance to take the bike from him before or during the divorce. After the divorce is over I'd go back out and get another bike I'll tell ya that, cuz she can't do S**T after that.

:iagree: divorces can be rough. she may not want the bike, but she might take it, just so he can't have it.:wbs: :wbs:

Sell it to a friend cheap then get it back after the divorce.
Just dont do any title work so he cant take you for it.
:iagree: but he would probably have to get the bike out of his name so the courts see that he doesn't legally still own the bike.

Just find a friend that would be very trust worthy.

I think my dad would buy my R1 if I ever got into some trouble like that, then I could just buy it back.

Now there's a good idea! Nobody says you couldn't sell it for $1000 and then split that amount in the divorce!! :D

Oh, and :welcome: Ace1

Usually the courts (or attorneys) will require it to be valued at, or at least close to, book value. Even if he sells it for $1K, he may have to give her half of book value.

however assuming it's not paid off, he will take whatever he does get for it and pay the loan off. Therfore he's just getting out from underneith the loan.

I'm talking about him "selling" it to a friend for cheap, then buying it back for the same price afterwards.
