Funny thing is. As a kid the heat went out in the house. When we came home the next day and found the gold fish frozen in the bowl. I set it out in the sun to though out so I could get them out of the bowl. Came back out several hours later to find one of the two slowly swimming under the ice. The other wasn't so lucky and went for a final swim in shiny white porcelain bowl.

We used to keep minnows in a cow or horse watering drum and they would freeze up solid for the winter and live? We would chip them out and they would start gasping for air after like a week or two of being frozen.

People have their fish really close to frozen every year when they have those ponds in their back yards... every year the fish all make it!
