Does anyone know any cleaner to get a gasoline stain off a frame? I somehow had gas spill down the side of my frame on the SV which left a big orangish stain down the frame. I think the frame is powder coated or something because of the texture, but I have tried general household cleaner, paint thinner, and mineral spirits. Nothing has worked, and non of the stuff I have used has hurt the finish. The paint thinner has lightend the stain somewhat, but its not comming off. Any leads will help thanks.

Thank Laura! I was thinking a buffing pad on the dremel may take it off, but I would think there is some kind of cleaner that would take it off. Let me know what the speedwerks shop guys think.

This may sound weird, but have you tried to use gas to get it off? I don't know what it would it would do, but that's what I would try.

yeah the chain def needs to be cleaned! I tried Zippo fluid on the stain, that didn't work either! I will try the gas when I get to the GAP tonight, or if i get a chance before i leave work.

It must have sat in the 90 degree sun for a weekend when I was out of town. All these chemicals it would probably ignite and blow up! :lol:

I do this stuff all the time at work.... you need to get a industrial degreaser. I have some at work that would get it off like BAM! No scrubbin or nuttin. But you may be able to use some other type of degreaser. Maybe some of that spray on rim cleaner. Made by Eagle One. Some of those that claim "spray on, spray off". Basically anything that will make your skin on your hands feel silky.

The purple stuff u can buy has worked for me too.. purple mean, or deep purple or something like that.

Like I said, if it eats your skin and makes your fingers feel all silky, you know it's good!
