 This weekend is the annual Hardley Davidson Open House..as you may or may not know, York,PA (my area) has the final assembly plant, and pretty much everything else harley for that matter, operations hub. Every year around this time they have an open house..10s of thousands of hogs, literally, ride in from all over the country to participate in the weekend long event.

Just think about it, countless out of state hogs riding around all weekend like they are king shiet!! hogging up the hotels, restaurants, gas stations, diners, and every freeking traffic light and stop sign in the city!!! and then there's us sportbikers, who aint backin down from no hogs, out there doing our thing as well, while we get all the dirty looks in the world.

Nothing better than a sportbike blowing past a group of hogs riding down the highway!! hell if u dont do that, you'll never get anywhere for the next 3 days! :cursin:

Well [email protected] Matt, I thought you were all excited for us to go this weekend and ride some of 'dem dar hogs!
I'm taking the family there tomorow to see all the bikes. I may love sportsbike, but my son loves to look at any bike. I am going to try to go to the H-D plant to get to ride a few of the new ones. Will let you know and get some pics and post if you guys want me to add these to this site or not. :)

I have nothing against hogs, but some of the people on them are complete tools.

See the "shoulda had a sportbike" thread. :flush:
I wouldn't let my impressionable son anywhere near a bunch of hogs. Wouldn't want the poor boy to get the wrong idea.

But with that aside, maybe you should ride your sportbike there...

there are actually a hand full, literally, of workers at the hardley plant that ride cool bikes (sportbikes)..obviously few and far between , but I'll give them props for that..and oh yeah, my son knows what the real bikes are..when he hears a hardley, he'll say HOG!!!! and when he hears a sportbike bike, he goes..vvvrrrooommmm!! Yeah, thats my boy.

Definately though DJ, ride your gixxer there!!!!

WTF are you talking about Gasman? I thought you didn't have any kids? Am I missing something here. I have hung with the hogs before and yes I would ride on if I had the opportunity - why not? it is a bike afterall.

The problem I have with hog riders are the cruiser wannabes - that is your garden variety dentist, $100k + a year, middle to older guy who worked his whole life as a slub and now wants to put on leathers and pretend to be a bad ass on his hog. What a joke. Those are the mfrs I cut off.

The real HD riders though are cool by me. I am referring to the Jokers, Scorpions, Outlaws - they are some of the coolest mfrs I have ever met and I have utmost respect for any and all of them. I try to make it to Harley Fest every Summer with my Yamaha and hang at my friend Eric's house with like 100 hogs.. Good times..

I think alot of times, we all get caught up in the whole, they are jerks, they have loud bikes, they dont wave to me, they are rebels & troublemakers, type of attitude. God knows there are enuff of them out there still, and always will be to help encourage that stereotype from becoming a myth.... I'll admit, I just dont like harleys, dont care for the way they look, ride, sound, or anything about them. I do respect the riders though, for being motorcyclists and there fore wish they would give me the same respect. but hey, you cant have everything I guess.
I'm just the opposite to you there MP. Those as you call them real HD riders are the a-holes that give HD a bad name. I have no problem with Mr. Profesional throwing on some chaps and hittin the road. Those "real HD riders" are the a-holes that don't wave to the other HD's, crusiers, and sportbikes. Because they're on their high horse and are better than the rest of us. "F" them!!! Seriously, we are all out there on 2 wheels and while you may not like the other style bike at least acknolodge the other rider on 2 wheels. I get sick of that c**p!! If I worked at McD's with all the playboy models I would jack off in their chocalate shack!

I have to excuse myself because I'm going to kill somebody or somin now! CYA!

Trust me. I wanted to and I was going to park it by all the Hogs and take pics of it by them just to pi$$ them off. LOL But I didn't, I rode with the miss and got some pics of the bikes there. Now everyone knows I am a sportbike rider. I like some of the "other" bikes. Just ones like built by OCC or West Coast Chopper or by Randell Johnson. As we were leaving, Kendell Johnson had one of his $150,000+ bikes there and put my son on it to get his pic taken. I thought that was pretty cool of him to do so with something thats cost the price of a house or 2. All in all it wasn't that bad of a day there. I will let you know that we did not fit in at first when we got there. We didn't look like we rode there type of bike and they knew it. LOL Here are a few pics from there and I will also put up a video or 2 of these 3 kids there doing some pretty cool $hit on dirt bikes. They are 17, 18, and 19 yrs old and very good.

Thats enough for me right there.. :smash:
Yea, regardless of the fact that we definitely didn't fit in with that crowd, it was a great time. I really enjoyed watching the young guys....... Do their tricks that is. I'm glad DJ bugged the crap out of me to get ready to go or I would have missed a great time with the family. The bike were pretty awesome in my opinion. Kendall Johnson had some really sweet choppers. Our 3yr old was really excited to sit on one.
Yeah...but I still went. It was fun. :)
That's a good lookin bike and a good lookin boy. Thankfully he takes after his mother instead...
