I was at the DMV for some address stuff with my 2 buddies, and I decided to go ahead and try to get my Motorcycle Permit. I was nervous as hell, even though I studied for the last 4 months. My first friend was just taking it for the hell of it. The second one is shopping for a new bike. My first friend passed missing only 4. The second friend passed missing only 1. Now its all on me. I was so freaking nervous that I would fail. As my friends were taunting me with their newly acquired permits, they call my name. "100% son, good job". Jokingly, I said wow, is that a good score? The lady chuckled and handed me my permit paper. I never get 100% on tests, so that was pretty cool! :dthumb:

Congrats! :cheers: and ZX I had to take a multiple choice test for my permit too. I passed with a 100% and I didn't even study, then a year later it expired so I had to retake the test and pass with a 100% again. I went and took the MSF course and got the licence!

MSF course is next on my list. I just wanted to be able to ride around town legally, and to get some experience in before the MSF course.

Here where I'm at you don't even have to take a test to get a motorcycle permit. Just show them your drives license and give them 10 bucks and your good to go for a year. The only test you have to take is a 20 question written test, and a driving course to get your motorcycle license.

In NC, you have to take a test for your permit, which only lasts for a year. You then can take your road test at a seperate time if you wish. If you've passed the MSF course, you're given a waiver for the road test. That way, when you pass your test for your permit, you're handed your license instead.

It's how I did, and I highly recommend it. I took the permit test just based on the knowledge from the 2 1/2 day MSF course, and passed. :readng:

Once again proving the MSF class is worth every penny and a few more.

i didn't need a test for my permit. just went to the notary and asked for one. issued to me immediately. that's interesting... i think a test is a good idea though. why should a bike be different than a car?
