I think there has been threads on this before...but was watching some tv tonight and though I had to share...

Of coarse, I really like my Desperate Housewives, COPS, 2 and half men, and some others on occasion.

But I was watching a show that all people who think they should have kids.

ABC's Super Nanny!!

OMFG!! This is like watching a top 5 reasons to use birth control!!! I'm sure, N4S,CJD,DJ, and 3boys can all attest to this!! You 4 really need to watch this show!!! It will either make you laugh or you'll think your kids are angels!!

:willy: OMG I watched that too!!! I honestly think I'd be a commited to a mental facility! My kids are 5 and 2 and they act no where NEAR to how those brats do. And I'm not saying my kids are perfect, because ummm, they do have their days, just like any other kid...But DAMN!

Now I'm not sure how people are going to feel about this next statement, BUT...I started early with discipling. IF they were/are doing something they're not supposed to, they got...Disciplined.

But those children on the Nanny didn't care. I seriously think they need to be on medication or something. Because they are just toooooo way out of control.

I think a lot of the kids actions depend on how the parents followed through with the discipline, etc. One of my exes had kids. They had a bedtime, but my ex never stuck to it. She'd say, "okay, it's 8 o'clock, time for bed", but then the kids would always get up and beg for a cookie, or something else. Those kids were never in bed before 9, sometimes 10. That was one problem. Another major problem in how she dealt with them was that if they asked for something and she said "No", they kept asking until she said "yes". And she ALWAYS caved and said yes, but it was always something like, "geez, get the cookie already and quit bugging me". Yeah, that REALLY works well for discipline. :upset:

I watched Desperate Housewives for about 15 minutes the first week and couldn't take it anymore. Need less drama, more slutiness.

The only shows I watch are Reno 911, Ali G, Iron Chef, Chappelle's Show, and South Park. When I catch them, I watch them, but I don't have a clue when they're actually on.

LOL I watched it for the first time last night..Super Nanny...and my kid is an perfect angel compared to some of them on there. If my kid acted half as bad as thoses on that show...he wouldn't be able to sit down for a week. Like my dad used to tell me.."I'll put something on your arse that even A-Jax can't take off". I listened then. LOL

:withstupi It all comes down to who is in charge. You have to be smarter than the child and they have to know YOU are in charge. Discipline has to be immediate and consistant. Unless the threat of "bodily harm" or should I say buttly harm is real, there is no leverage. Things like time out are a joke. When I was growing up, the only time outs I saw was when Dad would take time out from his store to bust my a$$ if I F'ed up.

I saw that nanny show last week and looked over at my fiance and said you're staying on the pill...FOREVER! She said she may have to agree with me on that one after watching that show! I don't know what I'd do when I have kids if they are like that. Maybe put padded walls up in their bedroom and replace the door with jail cell door! j/k. For those of you that like the "cop" shows, theres an awesome show called "The First 48 hours" on A&E. They follow around homicide detectives and the case unfolds, so you get to see the process, the crime scene, etc. I think it comes on Tuesdays after cold case files and its like 1-2 hours long. Check that show out.

And I'm probably missing a few. All I can say is...Thank God for DVR. (Digital Video Recording) :)

I have to watch "housewives", M likes it and I have been following Shatner on Boston Legal. It is better than the Practice, not as much whining. My 7 year old has us all hooked on Lost. Of course Abby makes us watch Static Shock, Teen Titans and Jimmy Neutron before bedtime!

Hey I get sucked into Teen Titans!!! I hated it when it first came out. And then I sat down with my son and watched it and immediately got sucked into it. So when it comes on at 6 (or is it 530?!?) or 10pm I watch it...*blush*

Titans....GO!
