ok so say I eigh 270 and carry passengers often.... that's a crazy load on the shocks. What kind of shock spring should i be looking at?

i would recommend increasing your spring preload for carrying passenger.
also, increase the front preload as well. I'm not sure if here is a height adjustment on those bikes. Try that first before committing to a stiffer spring.

let me know if you need more info on how to adjust preload.

BM is right... you need to set the preload higher on both ends... that's what it is for.... I'm surprised you are bottoming out the suspension

I have the rear adjusted all the way down. My fork seals are leaking a bit so i'm taking them to get fixed tonight - i'll ask to get that preload adjusted too. WOuld front fork ajustment really have that much affect?

The rear isn't bottoming out necesarilly - the orginal SV shock was bottoming out after a while and my license plate kept getting caught in the rear wheel. That doesn't happen with teh gsxr shock, but it's still pretty low with a passenger. I'm planning some road trips on it soon, so i just wanted to get it up a bit higher. I like the stiffer feel anyway....:dthumb:

thanks guys!
