I wouldn't mind a V-Rod if it were on clearance for 1/2 off. Those Porsche engineers didn't do too bad with it. If it were able to compete with my much cheaper V-maxes, I'd probably own one.

On the other side, I've had more maintenance issues with my V-Maxes than I'd care to discuss. I'm always working on those things. The Pasta rockets are the only bikes in the shop that I can always count on not to give me any problems.

Funny how im sure anyone of us can come with 100 stories of talking to hog riders who complain about constantly having to work on their rides, but if you ask anyone of them to try anything but a harley, they'll shoot u down in a heartbeat. to each his own i guess right?!

There are some pretty strong statements about HD. Personally a HD is not the bike for me but I respect the people who choose that as their bike. I am friends with members of some Detroit bike gangs that are HD. I go to Harley Fest every year on my R6 and they respect me so I offer them the same respect. I have been to a clubhouse or two that was hardcore HD on my R6 and they respected me because I respected them.

Like I said a HD is not for me. I choose a sportbike. I like the ride, I like the power, I like the handling, etc. etc. Some people like the HD for many reasons - maybe comfort or they like the way it rides - maybe they are older and like to ride 2up - everyone here has to admit sportbikes are not: 1. comfortable on long trips - even the most astute touring models 2. optimum for 2up riding.

Just like we compromise on comfort and other options the HD might offer they compromise on maintenance, etc. required.

I prefer mutual respect of any and all 2 wheels. If someone on a HD or Goldwing wants to pre-judge me a punk or squid because I ride a sportbike then f**k em but I am not going to stoop to their level.

Very well said MP. I agree and I know Matt will to but you need to come here to the heart of all HD's built and see how they are and how they think they are better then us. As it was said in another thread about waving from other riders, HD riders see us waving and just look the other way after we do. We will give them the respect first and get nothing in return here. Now it may be different in other areas but here in York,Pa where HD are built and they live HD, we get none. "I get no respect" O well. You can only go on and know you gave them respect.

My Lady and I were driving in my truck near Orlando once when we saw an HD broken down an the side of the road. We pulled over, she rolled down the window and said, "We would stop and help you, but we own Hondas and know you would never contaminate your bike by putting it in the back of our truck." Then she rolled up the window and started to drive away...He took the ride with his bike in the back. We drove him a few miles down the road and he unloaded at a friend's house. After we drove away, she said he would probably wave at the next sportbike he meets...or shoot at it

Mojo, I'm with on this one! I'd take a V-rod. Those are badass. And the #1 reason why they rock so much is because they're barely a HD.
