Yes, they're "OK." It means they meet the minimum standards. I have an HJC, but I upgraded to an Arai Signet. Arai, Shoei, etc, go well beyond the minimums. THAT is why they can bring a higher price. There are detailed tests you can find online if you want to know specifics. Go onto one of the larger forums and ask the guys that race what they think about helmets that meat minimum standards and helmets that exceed them.
A helmet is not something you want to skimp on, IMO.
