Scott Stapp (former Creed crooner) would disagree, thought Creed was more mainstream rock than heavy metal.

Stryper would also disagree. :jester

The only religious band I've ever heard that legimately rocks the f' out is Bad Brains. However, they're rasta, so it's a little different.

Anyway, Korn's alright I guess, better than Limp Biskit. Really, though, the only nu metal I ever liked was the older Deftones. :here:

Yeah that sucks.. Korn f'ing rocks.. Pop Music sucks.. Glad that some good band was able to put out a message like that and maybe open the eyes of the misguided youth wasting their money on that bubble gum no substance wanna be music crap that I would rather shove a 2 x 4 with rusty aids infected nails up my arse than listen to.. I have liked Korn from day 1.. Saw them on Ozzfest a couple of years ago and they rocked! I am sure they will find a new guitarist but it will never be the same..

Didn't see anyone mention Blink 182 broke up - looks like everyone is on the same page as me - WHO CARES? THEY SUCK.. lol..

KORN is MTV rock, and therefore, pop. It all depends on perspective, though, I guess.

Mmmmmmm, ok. Sure, Korn has there fair share of radio-play tunes, but there are just as many or more that are not popular or radio-friendly.
The real Korn fans know what I'm talking about.

I don't believe that showing a video on MTV classifies a band as pop.

You guys can say what you want, but I'm right. lol Put it this way. . if you go see Korn, how many people show up? It's not exactly and underground band. It's a radio-play/video-play band where people will hear one song, and then they get their following.

Well, you don't have much else to reference it to that's not pop punk/metal rock. It's by no stretch Creed or Oasis, that's not what I'm saying. Linkin Park, Limp Biskit, Korn, POD, System of a Down, etc. . I do like some of the music, but it is most certainly a pop hardcore music. Even the Deftones softened up their music, which sucks. Hell, I like Tool, but they're in the same category. Just b/c it doesn't sound like Air Supply doesn't mean it's not pop rock.

If you like that sound, check out the Melvins.

I could give you 10 bands I think you'd love, but you probably wouldn't listen to them b/c you've never heard them. And yes, being on MTV definitely knocks a band down a few notches, which is why I don't listen to any newer Rancid, Bosstones, Butthole Surfers, etc.
