women think differently of you????

I personally am NOT a rider! (someday in the future, but house first) I LOVE seeing a female riding a bike of any sorts because it shows it's not just for men. I do notice alot when I am on the road driving other non riding chicks giving evil looks to chicks on bikes. I think it's jealously in my opinion. So whatta ya think??? Do you ever notice others evily starting at ya when riding??? :bluemc:

I do notice that when I first started riding...

Some my friends that dont ride would always be like that thing is dangerous..When guys come up and talk bike with me they are real jealous and try to rush things.

But then there are some that are cool about it and just think your the best thing in the world because you are a women and you ride :)

Then again there are some women riders that dont like me because I started on a new gixxer and they have a 1984 kawi 250  :flush:

I think women are like that regaurdless if you ride or not..the bike is just another excuse for them to hate on you :)

Yes, yes and yes! Most women are jealous. They think that their significant other wants you instead of them because you can ride. Other women think it is cool. Try being a girl racing or doing track days. Then it can get real funny the kind of evil stares you get!

I'm trying to get my wife to ride, but she feels like it is too dangerous. She's not very happy about me riding, either. I keep telling her that it's something I really want to share with her, but no dice.

She did take the MSF with me, and has said that she wouldn't mind trying dirtbikes, except for the xpense of buying bikes and outfitting the whole family with gear. I even briefly thought about cancelling my purchase of my FZ6 and buying a couple of dirtbikes instead, but I don't want to give up the street, so I'll think some more about dirt an look for cheap ones used. I guess it's something I'm just gonna have to let go, and hope that I can be safe an accident free, and convince her that it'd be ok.

Do you ladies have any ideas for helping another woman who has qualms?

I think the boys think of me differently they seem to give me more slack (those who ride give me the most slack) (and those who don't). Seems they are not happy that I have taken up ridding. S/O is thrilled, but he never forced me into it.

If she does not want to ride, drop it.

Crunchie loves to ride w/ me. We always have fun. She wants to learn to ride, but right now, our budget wont allow us to get her a bike just yet, but we're working on it.

Women riders rock!!!

Bring her along on a more laid back WOS ride... like a event instead of a ride and maybe I'll bring my wife... she'll feel more comtable that way. It might also help if you play it cool when she's riding on back. I try not to do anything stupid that I may do by myself but I won't do with her on it.

I can tell you that I HATE riding on the back of people's bikes. The only person I'll ride on the back with anymore is my husband, and after our last incident (it was rather funny, though) I think I'll just stick to my own bike.

I hate riding on the back because I am not in control...you can't see a damn thing back there, and it's just plain not as much fun! I can see why a lot of women wouldn't want to ride on back, but it's better than not riding at all!!!!

Haters

Hi all!
I personally haven't seen any female non-riders giving female riders evil looks. I've also not seen too many female riders out when I'm running around which surprises me considering the number of women who took the safety course with me. Where are they?? I know I'll see more at the show next month!! I hope. Just found out not too long ago that there's only 1 other woman sportbike fan in the club I joined. I'm not out to take any other chik's guy from her--not trying either. If she's jealous that we share a common interest then she ought to learn to ride herself and get over it! If she's that insecure, she doesn't need to be in a relationship. I ride not to impress or prove anything to anyone. I ride 'cuz I l-o-v-e it!!

I wonder if that horrible biker boys movie has helped to influence women not to ride because of the implied statement that you have to be a lesbian to be a woman riding a bike (doe to the fact that the only woman one a bike in the entire movie from what I under stand and was told she is a lesbian)

No offence intended this is just what i have observed by having regrettably watched the movie
