I started on an F4i. Its a good bike, I enjoyed it. It has plenty of power and handles nicely. I never had any mechanical problems out of it. When I first got it, it had been in a wreck. So, I replaced a bunch of things and rode it for awhile untill upgrading to my current Ninja. You should be able to pick one up for a decent price. I sold my 2002 F4i for 3800. So if you like it and you can find one for a good price go for it, you wont be dissapointed.

Oh and :welcome:

Great bikes... not the top of the top but you can't ask for much more. Great reliability, and top notch looks!
:iagree: its also near the top of the list for beginners.
As for the price. That depends on the bike. What year, mileage, mods (the important ones to you) and overall condition.

Y'all are nuts... :yikes: The F4i is not a starter bike...Mine puts 100 HP at the rear wheel, does sub 12 second 1/4 miles and will run 140+ MPH...

I agree it is not a liter bike, but it will hang with the RR, R6, 636, any of those bikes...only a pro would know the difference...It is not a starter bike... :bslap:

Show me pics of yours after you buy one...It ain't your SV, there Bubba. It will make a believer out of you in a hurry. I have put many miles on Snakemann's RR, he leaves it in my garage...and if you think either one of them are starter bikes...you nuts...

I have to agree. If somebody isn't willing to go the ex500 route, or the SV... the Fri is way better than many other 600's out now!
