I have a 2003 yamaha yzf 600r I love evrything about the bike except I cant get it to pull of the ground without popping the clutch any ideas on what I can do to boost my power from after market parts to tuning tips I would just get another bigger bike but I am to hooked to this one thanks.
How can i give my 03 yamaha yzf 600 more power

It is a great bike. Why not change the gearing? A one tooth smaller countershaft sprocket, and a two tooth bigger sprocket on the rear will let you "pull off the ground". Fuel mileage and top speed will be lower, and the speedo may read even lower than the real speed. But it won't cost too much and you may be able to do it yourself.

A couple good mods for more power that are cheap are run a high flow air filter, high flow fuel filter port and polish heads and add a power commander. I ride a 98 600R and I have mods im gonna do hear over the next year and these are some i plan on doing (except im gonna jet the carbs). A cost list for those parts should be 50-100 for the air filter 10-50 for the fuel filter 80-120 for a port and polish kit(a side note to that is you will need rotary tool like a dremel but those are bout 50) and the power commander should run from 100-250ish i think. On top of the new sprockets and chain you should be able to get enough to pull that bike up cause always remember the simple rules of engines to run they need air fuel and ignition to run so to make more power get more air and fuel in there and if you can find one get a high performance egnition system but dont go out and waste your money on those 2 or 4 tipped spark plugs THEY DONT DO ANYTHING. the theory behind those is the same as an old engine tuning trick of indexing the plugs where you point the plug in the direction of the intake valve to get the quickest ignition of the fuel you can so they thought that by putting two or four prongs you would get the same effect but sit back and think why this wouldnt work . . . YOU JUST BLOCKED IT WITH MORE PRONGS so those are my suggestions i know lots about pushing as much power out of an engine as you can so you got questions i gots answers hope this book helps:2cents: :twfrox:
