My 1983 Yamaha Maxim, 650 with a 900 kit, only gets about 80 miles to a tank..i ride it hard, granted, but that mileage really sux...the new Kat 750, should get about 30 normal ride, and close to 40 on highway...i remember when it costs me less than 4 bucks to fill the tank, on reserve, now its close to 6...UGH..

Interestingly, on my Zook it doesn't matter if I'm doing city or highway miles, I get the same mileage.
With out getting on gas much, K1200RS gets about 32 MPG of combined freeway, city driving.
On trips of all freeway riding, I get 40-42 MPG at 70 plus speeds.

I've got 180 kilometers on this tank and the light went on yesterday :bonk: . I should be good for another 50 before it comes on, hope something isn't wrong. :nonod:
Alot of your gas mileage depends of course on how your riding, and what kind you are doing..assuming your ride is mechanically sound as far as you know. My buddy has a 2000 Gixxer750..and he got 100 miles on it, and his light came on! I was like, WTF!! talk about hitting it hard between the stop lights

Im still not that confident in my gage on my kat...im used to following the trip odometer..lol...but i ran it down till it was just touching "E" and it finally came on..the dealer said the tank will usually read alittle less than what you actually have, but not sure I'll take his word for it just yet. :)

I hear you there. Riding easy and with another rider I pushed it to almost 100 miles when I was first riding. Now I try to put gas in every 50 miles or so. No damn gauge so I'm paranoid about running out. Plus, if you fill the darn thing you end up wearing most of it so I fill it less but more often. Man I can't wait to get a new bike. This one has taught me well, but I miss the luxuries that 'newness' can offer.

Now that I have had the bike for a while, I have riden it hard and normal to see what I am getting as for gas milage. I get 120-130 when riden normal and around 100-110 riden hard. Not to bad but I had bikes before that got great milage.

With a bike as old as mine, I've had some no-gas stops, thanks to an internal issue I got worked out.

Anyway, I get 50mpg on mine, which is mostly straight country roads. That's about 140mi to Reserve.
