I wonder about the same thing...
I don't think we can compare 9/11 to the hurricane stuff. 9/11 was a tragedy that created massive amounts of deaths and it happened instantly.

The hurricanes are more of a finacial setback for the area... not nearly as many people died, they had plenty of warning of the "attack by mother nature"...sure they have lost everything but most of them are still living.

Granted many of them may come out way farther in the end....

What bothers me, is that SV or I won't get nearly this support if a tornado come through our towns and levels our house...we would have nothing left either! :skep:

Wow, here is a thread that could get ugly real fast, but here goes. I have very mixed emotions on this one. I feel horrible for the people that lost everything, BUT what happens is exactly the reason people have insurance. If they couldn't afford insurance, well it is a chance you take by owning property on the coast, they knew it. I live in the Mid-West and I don't have tornado endorsement on my policy (will call and check today though) and I'm taking a similar gamble.

And I agree with Gas, 9/11 was a completely different scenerio and I don't think they can be compared.

Just my :2cents: , now flame on if you like it's just a conversation.
Exactly... you either have insurance or you don't!

Regardless of what you think of FEMA... the problem is SOLEY at the fault of the govenor and that A-hole major of N.O.
