i'm interested in buying some leathers for a track day with my tax returns. i was just wondering how it should fit. i tried on the frank thomas strike jacket size 42 and the torso fit is kind of tight, not enough i can't tolerate it but pretty tight. everything else is perfect though. should i get the 42 or should i get the next size up? will the leather eventually strectch and be more comfortable?

Well, if you plan on riding at any track days, I would suggest trying the jacket on over a back protector. You will also want to make sure the jacket has a 360 degree zipper to zip to a pair of pants. As for fit, you want it snug so it won't ride up or twist, but you don't want it tight where it restricts movement. Make sure to sit on a bike with the jacket on and see how it feels when you move around.

will they let you ride on the track if you don't have a 360 degree zipper? this one only has it along the bottom of the back. do they make you wear a back protector too?
It depends on the organization. Some require 360 degree, some don't. Also, some will allow you to ride novice only without a back protector, others require a back protector no matter what.

You want your jacket to fit tight. It's better for your skin if you go down!!

The tech on the jackets with the track, I'll leave to the track guys.....

go for an american brand. they are cut differently from the european brands.
american brands cuts the torso and waist straight which makes them wider than the european tapered cuts

look in the attached pics and you could tell which is the american brand

Always good to know the american brand is making suits for fatter riders...lol

Says alot for us, Euro guys need it tapered to fit a healthy body....

Think they make that american suit in a McD's color scheme??????

Do some sit ups and make the euro suit fit ya good.....then u gotta stay in shape so you dont kick yourself all day if the Expensive suit doesnt stop fitting.
