Last few years have taken over turkey cooking from wife, she makes all the extra's :dthumb:
Have done BBQ and deep fried my favorite is Rotisserie on my Ronco showtime :drool: Simple easy clean up and tastes great :dthumb:

I had planned on deep frying (my favorite method) our bird but we received an invite from relatives. My bird will stay on ice until christmas dinner.

I'm lucky.... Chris' parents are hosting Thanksgiving (I offered, but they insisted on having it at their house), so I'm off the hook with regard to cooking the bird. YAY!!!

We are, however, attending an "Orphans Thanksgiving" (many of us, myself inculded, don't have any family in the area) at a friends house. They're doing a "regular" turkey in the oven, and then someone is bringing over a deep fried bird... I'm dyin' to try it!!

I'm gonna do waht i did last year. Bake it in the oven w/ tin foil covering it for four hours so it'll be moist and then uncover it four another two or so hours (basting every 10 minutes) until it's done. it was so ggod last year. Not dry or anything. The only thing that sucked was my gravy. i ****ed it up bad. Luckily someone brought some. Then we procceeded to drink so much Jager it wasn't even funny. We went through two normal sized bottles and then one of the 45 dollar jobs between eight of us. We were done!

thanksgiving at my parents is always a good meal. And since Ive turned 21, holidays are much more fun. With every beer I have, the less annoying the relatives get .

But in all honesty, I like my turkey old school. In the oven for hours on end. It comes out great, tender and juicy. Stuffing, gravy, potatoes, salad, make it all the better. We have a bunch of people coming over this year. Ma got the 22 pounder. We're having at least 12 people over. This will be a bigger Thanksgiving than the usual.

This is the first year in my lifetime that my parents (actually mom) aren't around to cook it. They moved to Florida...so I'm going to pick up the tourch. I invited my bro, my inlaws, and my sister in law... so we'll have our t-day at my house this year. I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah I thought about frying one... but I'm going to go old school. Got to go tonight to buy all the stuff....

Got 8 people... I need like a 20# I think... I want some left overs!

Old school here.... I'll be hanging out with my friends from school back in Fresno. It's going to be a blast. I'm bringing the wine. I figure two white and two reds should take care of anything that's on the table.

I love the Holidays, and the feasts are my favorite part.

I'm in Florida, but one of our divisions is in Holland, MI... last week, I was bragging to them about it being in the mid 80's here, how we're still in shorts and flip flops in late November, etc...... (they weren't real pleased with me for that)

i've always wanted to try a deep fried bird. maybe next year. my in-laws are cookin', it'll probably be done in the electric roasting pan or on the rotisserie on the grill. either way, it's all good! :drool:

i don't cook the turkey...I always let that up to my mom and dad. :lol: The last few years my dad cooks the turkey in the big deep fryer. I think it taste so much better that way. :2cents:

I used to be a Tennant/Castex/Nobles/Eagle distributor. I spent two weeks in Holland, Mi getting trained to be a warranty service provider. It was nice, but I still would rather live here

After your parents have been here a year, ask them if they would ever move back...I guarantee you they will tell you NO, and, that they won't even come to visit between October and April...

They will tell you and their friends that they miss the changing seasons, after 2 years down here, when you call on the phone and complain about the snow, they will say, "Oh yeah, I guess it is that time of year again isn't it?"

1 winter and you'll be hooked!! especially when you are out on that chopper every day...
