I took the bike out today, alone, for about a 100 mile ride. I took some little traveled county roads in rural northern AL. I didn't bring a map with me, only a printout from the Map software that didn't show detail down to the county road level. I THOUGHT I could find the way I wanted to go.

So, after awhile of just riding who knows where, I decided I should turn around and backtrack a little. I found my way back to a main road, but I should have either brought the GPS or a map.

There's something about riding and not knowing where you are that take some of the fun out of it, at least for me. I was, actually, looking for a road I'd taken once before and thought I could find it by sight. Nope.

Aside from that, the weather here is fantastic. It's in the upper 70's, low 80's and mostly sunny. The traffic was sparse, bugs weren't too bad and the bike ran like a champ. I topped 'er off with 93 octane before I went out and she was happy to rev up. :redmc:

:withstupi , I went out and rode today, well down to the AMA races at Pikes Peak Internation Raceway in Fountain, Colorado. I got pictures and some small vids of it. I know that 636 will love a couple. I got some pics of nice bikes and some other stuff.

Dog,

Me and you gonna scrap? Oh, I posted some, only five of 'em. I got more and some vids but can't load the vids anywhere on here.

**OFF TOPIC --> Hey, I know this place out here in well, I think it's New Mexico, called "Las Vegas". There's a farmer road that WOS would absolutely love. The twisties on it are insane, I mean, they recommend to take 'em at like 20mph. I did it in my car and almost shioted myself taking them at like 30mph-40mph... Next time I pass through there, I'll try to take some pics.

I'm broke, my insurance decided to suddenly raise my rates and demand payment NOW instead of the 21st of the month ( I have no idea how they are allowed to do that ), which makes me to broke to go to Bike Week.

So you know I had to go ride for just a little while today.

I think I had rather ride in the rain than stay home doing the list!
I couldn't tell you how many times I have turned around to go back to a road I haven't traveled.
Its amazing what you find and where some roads lead. :luck:

Shan...go to the county DOT office and they should have the maps of all the county maintained roads...I get them here for photocopying charges. They are the best for finding those out of the way places... :dthumb: I have used map quest and Rand McNalley etc...I have found the best and most accurate at the DOT office...
