A motorcyclist leading a funeral procession through the streets of Winter Park, Fla., was hit and killed at an intersection Saturday, according to Local 6 News.Police said Scott McNamara, 33, with Federal Motor Escorts was attempting to block traffic for a funeral procession on Orlando Avenue, near the Fairbanks intersection, when a Honda car hit him."A vehicle in the funeral procession that was escorting apparently stopped to allow a vehicle to cross from Kentucky to Orlando Avenue," Winter Park police Lt. Randall Durkee said.

McNamara was transported to a local hospital after being hit by the Honda and was later pronounced dead, according to the report."It is an unfortunate thing," Durkee said. "Funeral escorts as we all know with the traffic situation we have out there, it's very dangerous."The driver of the Honda car was not injured. He faces possible charges in connection with the death pending an investigation into the incident.

By looking at the picture, I would think the motorcycle hit the Honda, but the story reads the other way round. What's up?

:angelhap: That sucks man! RIP Rider!

And yes funeral pocessions are getting more and more dangerous. I don't think it will be long before they eventually outlaw them for this exact reason.

:sorry: for the loss!:disapp:

it is all over now.....

Guys

For most of you that saw in a post that I lost a very good friend to a motorcyle accident last week, his remains were shipped to his family in NY and today we observed the memorial service for him. The attendance for this event were about 75 bikes, and multiple familys.

I think I speak for all of us on the board, when I say we have lost too many people. Please be safe and wear your gear. The ironic part of this story, my buddy was an escort service for a funeral company (as you see below is coworker), He died while doing his job... Link for the pictures: CLICK HERE FOR GALLERY
