Hey all, I'm looking for some opinions on these gloves I just ordered (got them on clearance for $99). They are the 'Icon Timax Long'. I already have the jacket . The styling might be a bit over the top but I think they should provide good protection in a crash...

What do you guys think?

bomb ass gloves for a better choice of words, i grabbed a pair of short ones for the same price as that and man do i love them to death. ppl in cars fear them too let me say that. but they have an amazing feel and give tons of confidence and top protection.

Good price but a little to much bling for my taste. Besides, I don't want to be sliding and have metal get hot and burn what its supposed to protect.
I was thinking the same thing at first. But there is a layer (or two) of leather and then the inner lining under the titanium. If a slide wears through the titanium then I probably have bigger problems than some burns...

I bet they'd be great for punching people?

i have a pair of those gloves, pretty cool. hahaha its true, as soon as you put em on you want to punch someone. they got the mad max look.

mine were free however, cuz my racing friend for some reason has 4 pairs of gauntlets and had already gone down on these once, so figured id be better off with slightly rashed opposed to reg. short gloves.

i'd rock your gear :dthumb: ....but im happy with mine. all black no metal.

yah yah, im a ghostrider wanna be, or johnny cash. LOL.

What do you think about the jacket? I saw one today at a local dealer and it was pretty cool. How do you like it?
The jacket is great, their sizes run a bit on the small side though. Now that the Timax 2 stuff is out, last years versions can be found pretty cheap.

I have quite a bit of their gear and it seems to hold up quite well. I haven't had any quality issues. Their boots kick a$$ (pun intended).

Yeah like I said the styling is a bit over the top, But I think they look better in person, They are just one more jacket and set of gloves in my bike gear closet, you can never have too much stuff...

I think the article said something about opinions being very polarized, you either like them or hate them. I guess they are right.

I've always heard the quality of their stuff is suspect....and quite squidly.
I know the jacket holds up as well as any other in that price. Iv seen helmet liners come out when removed from head (funny) I've seen parts fall off too. I have also seen these misfortunes from other budget brands as well. Strange that although I have seen things go wrong with the more pricey brands. It seems to far and few between.
