I'm sure Pickle knows these guys, but the rest of you probably don't. Fu Manchu has been around for a long time. .heavy crunchy guitars in a little known genre called "stoner/desert rock." Their older stuff is better than their new stuff, but they rock none the less. They did a cover of Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" that is absolutely awesome.

I don't know a site that has music to d/l, but you can get samples here:

If you have FTP, check out "Mongoose" and "Jailbreak" for good examples. :woot:

Here's a list of 10 of the best stoner rock albums of all time, you probably recognize some of the names, like Black Sabbath. Most of their stuff was metal, though, obviously.

Kyuss was a few members of Queens of the Stone Age about 10 years ago or so.

It's called stoner rock b/c it's pretty much for the people that like jam band sorts of music, but don't think it has enough balls. For instance, Dave Matthews, Grateful Dead, etc. They jam and just go off into space when they play, but it's too flower power. Enter, stoner rock.

Right click save as, this band is "Core."

They both sound good. The first one trails off in a Stevie Ray Vaughn way, which I like. The second one was late '70's sounding, kind of WangoTango-ish, sorta.

That is a local band here that sounds fairly mainstream yet they are crisp and rock. The media section on that page contains a song called "Comfort". Worth listening to.
Thanks for the music!

Corrosion of Conformity, Clutch, Queens of the Stone Age. . ? j

Queens of the Stone Age have a couple radio songs you've probably heard. Aside from that, they jam and put on an awesome show. :D

All of Core's stuff really spaces out. I think they're from Australia, but I'm not sure.

You might like these guys, Clutch:

Checked out the Furnace, pretty good. The intro threw me off, but I really like the guitars.

You might like Reverend Horton Heat. .it's all reverb, but they put on one of the best shows around.
