...I come across this question:

The effect of alcohol is to ____.
a. Sharpen a boater's ability to keep track of several vessels, but will also cause his or her vision to blur
b. Impair a boater's judgment and slow his or her reaction time
c. Reduce a boater's ability to hear other vessels
d. Speed up dehydration, but not affect a boater's judgment and reaction time

I did not take the course or go through the online tutorial, I went right to the test; this is why. Who in their right mind would (unless you're impaired ) would respond that alcohol doesn't "affect a boater's judgment and reaction time" or it will "Sharpen a boater's ability to keep track of several vessels"?

In fairness there were actually some tough questions if you hadn't gone over the study material. However, I would guesstimate at least 25% of the questions were common sense like this one.
