Howdy All,
I'm a Southern Cal rider and in Cali, lane sharing is legal and pretty much expected if you are on a bike that will fit between cages. I was sharing a lane on the 405 freeway when this a$$wipe on a harley started yelling at me that I was in the "wrong lane". A little explanation: the 405 is a 5 lane freeway with a HOV lane. The harley dude was between the 2nd and 3rd lane. I was riding between the 3rd and 4th lane. I know the general rule is to avoid riding in the far right lane and even the next one over to the left so as to avoid dumbshiites cagers making a sharp swerve to get off at the last minute. So with that thought, I avoided the two furthest right lanes since I was in the left side of the 4th lane. I was sooo pissed I wanted get off the bike and kick the shiite out of him. Was I in the wrong? Thanks and Ride ON!!

I've never had the option of doing it legally in the first place.

Yeah, you really want to be in the right side of the #1 lane or if their is a carpool lane, to the right side of that.
Just don't swerve back and forth between lanes....the Chippys get a little excited about that....I got a warning once on that one.

I have no idea... every time I've done it it's been everywhere and illegal no matter where I was!

I have done it at a stoplight, where traffic is stopped, but I don't think it's legal here. Anyway, I don't share my lane with anybody.
