So I find out today after I spend $80 on a new K&N high air flow filter that without rejetting it is a waste of time.. finish up the bike, clean the chain and take it for a ride.. I get out on 8 mile and hit it the thing hesitates like a mfr and then goes.. ok maybe it is cold or maybe because I had the gas tank off it there was a gap.. so I ride around and let it warm up.. same thing.. off the line in first gear it feels like it is being held back like it is running on 3 plugs or something and then around 40-50 mph it takes off.. I go back to the Twistified garage and say the forks are great and the bike starts right up but it hesitates big time - someone tells me it is the filter for sure that without rejetting it is no good.. I had asked the guy at the dealer for a stock filter and he said no the K&N is the same price so why go stock because K&N is much better and he has one in his 01 GSXR 600 and it is great, etc. I am tempted to clean off the stock filter or go buy a stock filter and put it back in and return the K&N.. I am going to the track 2 days next week so I will see how it goes, I am hoping it isn't too shiiity.. Just wanted to mention it in case anyone else with an R6 is considering the change without rejetting - don't do it..
