HI,
I'm an owner of kawasaki Z750 ('04) and I would like to make a little
tunning on my bike. Last year I bought an open exhaust, which is a
replica of akrapovic, and now for this season I would like to make
another upgrade. And that would be a sport air filter. Here in Croatia I can find BMC, DNA and K&N. The price is unimportant, because it's
almost the same for all of three. On internet(google) I couldn't find any reviews, tests, compares of them. So now I'm in dilemma. In general for K&N filters I heard that they became worse, BMC are OK but I'm skeptic with italian products. For DNA I don't have any info. So if someone have any good advice I would be very grateful.
This was the first thing, the other one is called vacuum switch derestriction & reset of the electronics. The reset of electronics as I heard is done by removing wires from battery, and short-circuit the main + and - wires, and puting the key in ON position. After that the electronics is reset, and the default factory settings are loaded.
Is this true, and is this a right way to do it properly ?
I also heard that if you put an open exhaust on your Z1000/750, you must do vacuum switch derestriction, because the motor will work better and there will be almost none back fire? I asked my dealer/service and he said that he knows how to do it, and then I said than you do it. I don't know the details of the whole procedure, but I know that it has something to do with the rubber hoses above the motor. But I'm not really sure that he done it correctly, because I didn't noticed that he do anything with the hoses, when I drove the bike for regular checkup on 12kkm.
So if someone know what has to be done with the hoses, so I could compare it with mine.
Thank for the help!
