Kawasaki has released their final (claimed) horsepower and torque specs for their highly anticipated ZX-14 sportbike. Many media outlets had expected Kawasaki to claim 200hp for the ZX-14, but Kawasaki defied expectations - the published specs are 187hp and 113.5lb-ft of torque, with 197hp when the ram-air system is in effect.

So the ZX-14 may not quite reach the magic 200hp mark, but how will it perform? Keep your eye on MD to see our 'First Ride' of the ZX-14 in late March.
I'm guessing that is at the pavement...

What is the stock Busa numbers?

its gonna give the Busa a run for it, if not just clearly beat it, till suzuki redoes the busa finally.

But its gonna be a good bike... if it just handles as well as a zx12R itll be a good all around bike like the busa...... and DAMN i bet it can do some nice wheelies.

I remember reading a century ago that the manufacturers had a gentlemen's agreement not to make suicide bikes. Bikes that were capable of pushing federal regulations to limit it's speed (power). I think they settled on not exceding over 185 mph stock. This made the earlier busa's faster than the later ones.

Most likely at the crank...manafacturers tend to use the highest number available for hp (crank) and the lowest number available for weight (dry).

 No effin way. Without a congressional hearing? Even after Ol' Man Bush pukes on their prime minister, the Japanese horsepower cosa nostra have forgiven us barbarians and AGREED to unleash the dogs? What happened? Will this mean another escalating horsepower/top speed war?
