Anyone know anything about these lids? I found one I fell in love with this weekend, and it's fairly inexpensive. I know price isn't always a true indicator of quality, but in the back of my mind, there's still that little voice saying "you get what you pay for." But it seems to have good feautures (I love that the liner is fully removeable/washable!), I've just never heard anything about the long-term quality/durability of these helmets, nor anything about the comfort.

Anyone have any experience with these?

This is the one I'm contemplating (it's called "Heart")

Anything is better than nothing or a novelty helmet. Either standard.

... And it was Motorcyclist magazine, not CW ebbs :dthumb:
I put Motorcyclist at first ... but for some reason changed it... not that it matters... you know what I was talking about...

but I like the way my Arai fit... the weight.... how quiet it is... and my peripheral vision is better in it than anything save maybe the shoie... granted I didn't try on many... just what my local shops carry:2cents:

Yeah... true.... I guess I just keep thinkin' "It's my Melon... I shouldn't be cheap when it comes to protecting my melon...." But it's just so darned cute!!
That sounds like my wife talking. If you like the looks that much, get it. I'm sure its plenty safe. If you find you don't like the comfort or noise. Sell it on ebay or in local rags.:2cents:

Gah.... so torn. Do I just wait till I can plunk down $650 for the Suomy I really, really want, or do I buy a second "cute" helmet now? Decisions, decisions....

Guess I'll see if Helmet Shop in Daytona has them in stock, try it on and go from there. *sigh*

(and Jeeps, hey, even though we ride, we're still girls at heart! While I'm not out there decked head to toe in pink leather, I still wanna have cute gear! )

I have several helmets (benefits of owning a dealership! ;)), one of which is a TK8. I hate that helmet. It's loud, it directs air directly into my eyes. At 40ish mph with the visor up, it shrieks. The first day I used it I thought a car was skidding into me from behind.

OTOH, I also have a KBC VR1 that is a great helmet! KBC makes some great helmets with some great features, I'd just steer clear of the TK8.

If you want a good helmet with cool graphics, check out the new Icon helmets. Tres Cool!! I especially like the Legion. My main helmet is an Icon Hooligan Mainframe. They just released the Hooligan Mainframe in pink flames. Also, the anti-fog screen available for the Icon is awesome. It works better than anything I've used.

I had a SHoei that would do that with the visor at a certain angle, very annoying. Particularly if you have contact lenses.

THis is just a general statement regarding the helmet -cost relation & not directly towards your statement or view: So if that $800 Arai, Shoe, Suomy goes for halfprice during end of year close outs...does that mean its only half as good as it was when it was sold at full price early in the season:scratch:

Excellent... thanks for the info... the noise is a big concen of mine (my exhaust is deafening enough!)

I already have one Icon helmet (the Alliance Damnation) which I love, and overall I'm very happy with it. I was pureply considering this KBC as a "cute" alternate helmet. But based on the mixed reviews, I may just end up saving my pennies and waiting till I can afford the Suomy I really want. *sigh*

 Even if it was selling for $50, I don't think anyone would question the quality, protection or integrity of an Arai, Shoei or Suomy. :dthumb:

Shoot. You could buy a slip-on w/ the money you save if you don't buy the Suomy.
