I am looking at this sv for sale. It is:

2004
1500 miles
Yellow
looks good
Has maintence records
has fairings
has warrenty extention until 2008

$5200

What do you guys think?

I dunno because for about 1000 more I could get a brand new Kawi 650r.

NE help is great.

Yeah... well $1K more and a new bike... plus you have to consider that the interest rate on the new one will be lower as well!!!

I'd say buy a new bike if you can get a new one for $1000 more. Besides a 2004 SV650s NADA Value is Low $3,475 / Average $4,570. Edit> if I add in the full fairings option it takes the value up $300 to $355. still...

The SV doesn't hold value for nothin! Trust me I know...I had one!

Yeah, I meant lower fairings. I am trying to decide between the svs and the 650r, but I like the looks of the Suzuki better. I was thinking about offering around 4k for it, bc at 5200, id spend a little extra for the new kawi. I have the cash, and I dont plan on financing, so that is not an issue.

:luck: I like the SV over the Kaw too.

Yeah, the SV's a great bike. I've got a 2k5 for my first bike and other than some operator error I haven't had any problems with it. I would say you're much closer to the right ballpark at $4k for an '04 than the 52 you said they're asking.

I can't say much about the price, because what bikes sell for over there is ridiculously cheap compared to what we colonials pay!

I will recommend the SV though! My Girlfriend rides one, it's well behaved enough to suit her, but can still get a decent time around a track! My only caveat, save enough to put a Yoshi pipe on it, the standard ones sound crap in comparison. And ride it first, if you don't feel comfortable on it, it doesn't matter how good the thing is!!
