Well every Suzuki from 1990 on has them. The GSXR was the 1st production bike to have them installed. :dthumb: Why you ask? They used new kind of piston ring and during break in it would send a few bits though the oil system and used this to get all shavings.

Yeah they're pretty desent... My LP cross drilled has one, but I don't ever find anything on it... guess that K&N oil filter is doing its job!

My Katana had one, but the R6 doesn't. I'm planning on buying a Scott's filter, though, and it has a magnet in it.

The Scotts would be great for you sense you just bought the R6... you'll definately get your number of changes out of it to benifit the expense...

Don't let this oil change go by without
installing a magnetic drain plug. Our
Magnetic Oil Drain Plugs replace your
rounded off OEM drain plug and are cheap
insurance. Your oil filter can't catch
everything and does not! The smallest
particles are metal particles and they can
destroy your engine very quickly! Since the
oil in the sump runs through the oil pump
before it hits the filter (if it has one), the
filter can't really protect the pump. Stop
engine damage before it can begin!

Don't let this grit ruin your expensive
engine. Our rare earth super strong
Neodymium magnets pull out the bad
metal debris and hold onto it. At your next
oil change, just clean these particles off
with a rag. Increasing amounts of particle
build-up at each oil change is your
engines way of telling you it's on the way
out. A little heads up can't hurt!
