I wonder why the manufacturers designate their models with those acronyms.
There's got to be a translation of these codes, and I think there are because mostly military products have codes to designate them, so why not motorcycles?
Like in cars, for example, the BMWs have 318, 320, 520, etc
"3" is the chassis cell and "18" is the 1800cc engine. Result: Chassis 3 with 1.8 engine. The same applies to others models.
Somebody told me that (for example) a Suzuki GS, the "GS" means 2 valves per cylinder, but adding and "X" (GSX) means double the GS (4 valves per cylinder).
Have any idea?
