Basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character.

It sure is different playing a 7 vs 6 string guitar. I didn't realize how much I used the low E string as a reference point for chord shapes. :crazy:

Very nice. I feel Ibanez is the HJC of guitars - right price and high quality - most bang for your buck - everything else is overpriced or junk. That is a sweet looking axe. I am selling my Ibanez - great guitar but it is right handed - I am going to opt for a left handed and try to learn that way to see if it improves my playing.
