I just got a Micron high mount polished exhaust for my R6. What is everyones opinion on this exhaust. One of my friends told me to get it. I will be putting it on tomorrow.....
If it's the one with two 90 degree bends in it to make it really high ... looks cool, will make about 2 less HP than stock (at best, the same as stock). Exhaust gases don't like making two 90 degree turns.

The only exhaust they make that actually works well is the serpent full system with the funky squished headers. That was one of the first full systems we dyno'd on a GSXR1000 that made a big power gain.

yup thats the one. 2HP less, really? that sux.

I didnt know what exhaust to get. Anyone know how it will sound?

my bike is pretty much stock.

I have
K&N air filter
flush mount front blinkers
rear blinkers integrated into the tail lights..

I am having my friend fabricate me a polished license plate bracket to hold my plate because i couldnt find any i liked online. Tonight i was looking around the forums and i found the flip down one. that one looks awesome!! Did anyone from here buy it?

It's really just a bad design. It'll sound fine - it's a 2 inch baffle. It just restricts exhaust flow with those bends, which kills power. I'm really over-exaggerating ... it may make a couple more HP than stock, but it's not going make anything like a good system will

And ditch the K&N - that's another good way to lose HP. You can map/jet all day to try and get around the problems a K&N causes, and end up right where you started with a stock filter. If you want an aftermarket filter that works, get a BMC.

I love the look of that pip on the R6. Unless your racing it. I wouldn't worry about the HP thing from the pip or the filter. I do like the BMC over K&N just from the numbers. Other than being reusable, there not really any better than stock. :2cents:

when you refer to the header being squished do you mean right there by the engine it almost looks as if the pipes are pinched together?
