my friend has the stuff that comes in what looks like a paint thinner can. metal, square, with a handle on top....

anyway..this stuff poured on a rag takes EVERYTHING off the metal on your bike. I soaked a rag and did two swipes on the top of my swingarm and it was shiny like new! thats removing, dirt, tar, chain lube and rubber all mixed.

only thing is, my loser friend forgets how to use a phone, and i dont remember if its really called mineral spirits or something else.

anyone know about this?

I've also used a citrus based product called Goo Gone with success on road tar, bug splats, etc...

Yeah, Goo-Gone works awesome! I used it to take off the sticker residue when I took my decals off.

I use kerosene that comes in a similar container...but only for the non-painted parts of the bike, of course. Works better than damn near anything for cleaning the chain

well paint thinner, acetone, and mineral spirits all come in about the same canister so it could be either one. They both work about the same.

yah, i definately only meant for unpainted parts such as the swingarm, subframe, and frame.

i want it to look brandy new this season.

i just cleaned half a tire and a can of chain lube off of my undertail. :yikes:
