Over the weekend I helped some friends move in Maryland. They had so much stuff and only 3 of us had trucks, and one had a suburban. Well we got tired of making 25 mile trips back and forth so we just overloaded things on the 2nd trip.
We stacked up my buddies truck so high with stuff, and I said all we need is a rocking chair on top! So everyone started to laugh, and said ok... So my buddy started singing the beverly hill billy's song...and we stuck the rocking chair on top. it made it there with no problem....if it wasn't so dangerous someone would have sat on it rolling down the road.
Here's some pics...

Where's the grandma on top?

Kinda reminds me of National Lampoons Vacation for some reason... :skep:

Wouldn't it have been easier and as cheap to just rent a truck?
The friend we were moving is an idiot! He doesn't make that much money for one, his rent will be $1200 a month, he has 3 kids and a wife that doesn't work because she watches the kids all day. By the time he pays rent and maybe a cell phone bill he's already in the negatives. That leaves no room for utilites, food, diapers for 2 of the kids, food, drinks, car insurance.....he didn't make a smart move at all... SO no...a truck rental wasn't an option.

For the money you spent on gas for 3 trucks, a rental would have been cheaper. Sure, you would have to pay for the gas in the rental, but you could have made a single trip, rather than several trips with 3 trucks.

He gave each of us $10 for gas...I'm sure that was burned up on the 2nd trip. If it was possible I would have took my company box truck...but there is certain insurance issues on borrowing that. I can use it for my own personal use for free, but moving someone else wouldn't fly....I wasn't going to take the risk of borrowing it and taking it to another state. just not worth it.

I'm in the middle of moving right now for the 3rd time in a year and a half. Moved into a trailer, the yard flooded in front of the shed and I had to push the bikes through a mud hole to ride. Moved into another trailer 2 weeks later, then 4 months after that I moved into Housing on base, then right now my wife's at Basic and graduates that in Jan and I leave for Iraq in December, so I'm moving into a friends spare bedroom and a storage shed. It sucks.
