I'm thinking of putting some money into my new bike, it's a 03' 600 RR. What would be a good first mod? Exhuast, PC3, etc. any help would be great, I don't really know alot about bikes yet. But becuase of this site i am learning fast.:dthumb:

Put up some bigger pics so we know what you have/don't have.

After you have all your gear (jacket/gloves, etc.) I'd pick up some frame sliders. If you want more power I'd go with a full system and PC3. You won't gain much from a 600 but you could also change your gearing. But gearing will effect your accel/top speed depending on which way you want to go.

Cosmetic wise I'd go with a fender elim kit, some flush/mini marker lights. Check ebay.

thanks, I got the frame sliders and the swingarm sliders on there now, I have the riding gear. I bike is all stock, and once i get used to it i'll be passing it down to my wife who has a 06' 250 ninja now and i'll get something bigger. So what i put into it will be used for awhile. Whats a good brand exhuast?

Jardine, Yoshimura, Akrapovic, Termignoni, Micron and many more. Those are a few of the top brands.

99birdV6 has a termignoni on his '03 600RR and it sounds great and the bike will scoot...He has topped 160 on it.

the first things i got for mine were the frame sliders, fender eliminator and bolt-on exhaust. i'm slowly working on more mods, but i am more appearance mided than performance minded. right now my bike goes plenty fast enough for me as is.

SS brake lines. You can sever go wrong with SS brake lines.

on a 600 gearing and set up well worth it gearing will be noticable improvement

What do you want to do? Go fast in a straight line or have the bike handle well? Anybody can go fast in a straight line, Go with suspension mods 1st!! With a 600 you have all the power you need for now, make it handle good. I have my own issues with my 636 in the department. If I can get it setup right, keeping up with the faster bikes will be allot easier..:dthumb:

I can agree with ya there. When I had the SV I was out running guys on bigger bikes in the curves because I had my fox racing shock setup for it. On the str8aways they'd catch me, but over all I'd say the suspension plays a big role.

Not a big role...the most important role. There is not better mod per dollar then corretly setup suspension.

true, but in MOST cases aftermarket is better than stock.

A friend of mine has an 03' 600rr and he has a jardine slip-on. His bike sounds great. It isn't too loud at low rpm's, but will scream when you get above 10k. How long do you plan on keeping the bike before passing it on to your wife? I'd see what she likes as far as mods. It will eventually be her bike anyway, and you might get some points for asking her opinion. Hopefully she'll remember it when its time to start looking for your new one!!:dthumb:

Speaking of mods. I just put in the HRC 1/5th turn throttle last night. I have not had the chance to ride it yet(Rain) BUt the travel on the throttle is so much faster.
