I have seen many different motorcycle alarms, ranging from $39.00 to over $250. I have even seen a $40 alarm from China that has an LCD screen and can page you if the bike is disturbed.

Really I just need some advice on who makes the best alarm? How sensetive are they usually? and should I get the addon that warns people away when they get too close? Do you think its worth it to have a paging unit?

It's not that bad for theft down here in Palm Beach, unlike in tallahassee. My good friends R1 got stolen out of his driveway in the middle of the night.. Man does that suck..

Any recommendations or Reviews on Alarms would be great.. I'm not rich but I probably should go ahead and dish out some money for a decent alarm..

Thanks guys

I've been toying with the idea of an alarm since I'm not at the highschool ever other night with the wife. But at the same time in a place like that it might be more of a pain.

:luck: with your search.

Scorpio Alarm review:

Pro:
-Small, easy to fit into a bike
-FM 2 Way paging (the alarm will go off on your pager if someone mess w/ ur bike)
-Installation is quite easy (if not installing the engine kill device) once you figured out where you want to place your unit
-No one dare to touch my bike anymore (at least not without me knowing it)

Cons:
-Very expensive compared to other models (there are supposed to be alarms with similar function from other companies at a much lower price)
-Perimeter sensor goes off randomly once in a while (happens every few days I guess)
-Signal range sucks (your 2 way page function is essentially gone once you enter any building like a mall or theater)
-Drains battery very fast (drained out my battery in a bit over 2 weeks if I don't ride it)
-No memory for your setting on your pager (you'll have to reset your settings such as the tones of the alarm, sensor sensitivity, how long the alarm will sound, etc. everytime you switch out the battery on your remote which happens to be once a month for me)

I've been thinking and since I'll have insurance now I'm thinking I'll just get a basic alarm without the 2 way FM signaling.. I just want something to keep any kids off and warn people away.. or tell me someone is messing with the bike..

I'll keep looking...
