Anybody ever paid attention to how people will swear by some brands, but say that all the others are pretty much crap. I had thought about it before, but i kinda noticed it when i was reading the thread on the new honda 600rr. I gotta admit, i liked my suzuki until i got my r1. It is probably the smoothest bike i have ever ridden. I'd probably buy any brand though. Today's bikes are so advanced that not many will be able to push them to their limits. What about everybody else? Do you guys have any preferences when looking at bikes??

I have always been a suzuki fan so I bought the SV, then my friend bought a new R6, I got a chance to ride it and everything about it just blew me away. I gotta say Yami's got there stuff down...so my next bike is the R1.

I still like suzuki tho.

It all comes down to personal preference, each rider will have their own opinion and fit differently on each bike.

If those rumors were true then bike companies wouldn't be in business. So unless you get some facts or ride the bike yourself then you really shouldn't listen to what anybody says. I go with looks first, then do my research. I would ride any bike as long as I was happy with the facts/specs/looks.

well...thats not really a fair comparison...the SV is very different from an R6....a better comparo to switch from suzuki to yamaha would be to ride a gsxr too.

anyway...I like my suzuki...i have no brand preference though whether it be with cars or bikes....I buy whatever I like and feel is the best performer of the group.

Im already planning on switching to kawasaki soon though. My next bike will be the ZX-10R....probably by next summer (2007)

I have rode many other bikes too, such as Honda F3, Triumph TT600, suzuki katana, Suzuki SVS, Suzuki Intruder........ It's all about how it feels comfort, price, extras...

Its the same with anything... cars, bikes, tvs...everything. I don't swear by anything... I like certain brands but others are fine too. I can appreciate anything that looks or performs good in my POV!

What's up guys? I've actually been thinking about buying a bike. My brother DLITALIEN refered me to this site. He said that there is plenty good info and the people are cool. I got two kids so I proly won't have to much $ to spend. It'll be my first one so I'll proly do a 600cc or lower. D is saying a 600 is a good size bike for a beginner. We'll see though. It could be a long ways away.

Yeah Kawi just never got my interest. I love my Honda and Suzuki's.

The new gen CBR is the total package, The 1000rr is dumping 160hp and the has the handling of fighter jet. The ZX-10 had stabilty issues(Hence the very low race turnout) The gixxer 1000 is a beast, awsome handling but the power is so harsh that the spinning out of corners was the biggest complaint. Dunlop(AMA) and Bridgstone(WSBK) have been working with the factory to get the spinning solved which includes a sweet traction control system being used by the Corona Suzuki and has rumered to be in testing on Factory Suzuki AMA team.

I've always thought of Suzuki and Kawi as being geared more towards performance and dollar value whereas Honda and Yamaha are a total package of comfort, build quality, and performance. Thats not to say any of the race-reps are poor performers, just that some are a little less refined like Twistys examples of Suzuki and Kawi.

I'm not brand loyal per-say and would own any of the big four or Triumph. It just comes down to what feels and looks right for me and what I can afford. I got a great deal on my Bandit brand new as a leftover and am real happy with it and I like the way it looks and rides. I'll probably try something a little more aggressive in the future but I haven't found the limit of this machine yet.

Those all black SV 1000's really look tempting though!
