As I was out driving from the mother-in-laws home coming home...me and 3BoyzNaBike came up to an older Triumph with a regular car dealer tags on it.

Is that aload?? Can you ride a bike around with a dealer tag from a car on a motorcycle??

I don't think so, but if he made it home or back to the shop, more power to him!

At least here in michigan, they do make dealer MC plates!

Well, Michigan has temp plates for MC's and they are just a little bigger than a standard MC plate.... but nuttin stupid like the size of car plates!

I know that when I had a temp plate, I took it off and put it in my jacket. I didn't want it to blow off and that's what I would have told the cop too!

These were definitely car plates. LOL In Pa, the dealer tags for cars usually start with a specific letter (? no clue why) and the plates were the size of a normal car plate. It looked pretty jacked up on the back of his bike.

I have seen used car dealers that take/sell bikes on trade and they have put their dealer tags on them...the bike is owned by the dealership...I think the LEO's would let you slide out of courtesy for a test ride, but I wouldn't push it...

in michigan it's a no no.alot of dealer's use the plate's for personal use, which your not aloud.they will tow, impound, and give you ticket's.i found out the hard way 4 time's.
I use to be a used car dealer and only used dealer plates and insurance.
Its allot cheaper than paying for tags and insurance on several different vehicles at once.
I used two plate for personal use and only had problems in the wee hours and once out of state.

JYJ.... 4 times? What gives with that?
first time i was going to silver lake on vacation,no taxes paid.second time going up north for the weekend,no taxes paid and towed car cause the cop couldn't find the serial number on the motor.third time,no taxes paid and improper use of plate.i was going to work from home.fourth time, improper use of plate and they towed the car.each time the ticket's were dropped.just so every one know's,in michigan you are allowed to sell 6 car's a year before getting a dealer liscence.there also making it harder to get one.
