As I said in my intro thread, I've got my bike pictured to the side there, and it awaits me in storage while I get my gear. I've gone on a few quick runs in the storage area just finding my way for quick bits, but nothing serious. So I've had to wait till another payday to get my equipment.

Only I didn't realize a few things... :lol:

Not only is it the season to get bikes, but to get bike equipment! I had to order my Icon jacket, only to wait two weeks for it cause it was back ordered. Pretty good, considering the jacket just frikkin' came out! I then went this week to get my helmet and glove. Gloves. Check. Some sweet Joe Rockets.

My helmet though... Seems I went to the local shop only to find them completely out of my size helmet. Completely out of Large helmets? Yup, they had a run on helmets YESTERDAY! :cursin:

I went there for an HJC Tribe Helmet, they had one left, but XL. My good fortune though was that they now carry Scorpion helmets, which I read some of you highly recommended. Instead I've now ordered a Scorpion Octane in my size and the color I want, I just have to wait another week!

Someday I'll get on the road... :thumbs:

hey i usually take a large helmet but in and hjc i had to get an xl. got all my gear for xmas.

what jacket you getting. did you ask speed werks first, and newenough has hjc for 99 mb2, swithc, and i think tribe not sure though.

I got the black version, but the picture is misleading. In fact that jacket is ALL black and no white in it at all. Was kind of disappointed in that.

I hadn't seen the HJC Tribe helmet cheap anywhere. One shop I went to, actually stopped carrying HJC and went to KBC, but nothing in KBC appealed to me. I also hadn't heard anyone talk about the brand. The salesman had say they are pretty much comparable, but I passed.

I also wanted to get my first helmet in a shop where I could try on sizes. Maybe my next one I will get online.

They did have one pair of Icon Hooligan gloves, in black like I wanted, but of course... it wasn't in my size. They were too big.


Thanx for the kind words. I pretty much think I won't be hitting the road till the being of April. So I'm trying real hard to be patient, enjoying buying gear, and reading Total Control. I got all summer to ride, have found plenty of people to ride with, so I can hold out a little longer.

Latest update: I finally got into a MSF class! :dthumb:

Will be taking classes the weekend of April 15th.
