update on my inspection

my inspection is coming due end of august and the last time i had the bike inspected it didn't have fender eliminator or flush mount turn signals yet. will this pass inspection? i called local shop and they said they'd have to see it to tell me if it passes regulations or not. turn signals hafta be certain brightness and certain measurement apart. i am getting nervous. anyone else have problems with this? anyone in my area know who would inspect it for me if no one else will? i don't wanna hafta put the stock stuff on for inspection, but i gotta do what i gotta do , i guess. here's a shot of my undertail. it has only the 2 strips of led lights as turn signals.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I am also from PA. and me and a couple of the guys I ride with have aftermarket lighting on our bikes. Turning signals, tail lights, and license plate lights. We have no trouble getting them inspected, but it also might depend on who you go to. I mean if they want to be pricks they may give you a hard time, but as far as I know, they haven't told any of us that are bikes won't pass inspection.

In a lot of areas, Delaware is one, your bike will not pass inspection. As much as I hate to say this, because you are a girl, you *might* get away with it. I am not trying to make a sexist comment, but if you get the right guy, just play stupid. In your sweetest voice "But my bike looked so ugly the way it was, I just wanted it to look nice. I didn't realize it was illegal. I had to take a day off of work to come down here and I can't afford to take another one off! Oh no! What will I do if you fail me?" :)

It may work, it may not. It's worth a try, though. Sometimes you have to just realize using the fact that you have boobies to your advantage can be a good thing.

Yeah give it a shot. Like I said before, they don't give us to much trouble up here, I don't know what it's like in Hanover, but a Pa motorcycle inspection should be the same either place. I mean hell were in the same state. If all else fails go with the "Assets" :luck: and let me know how it goes, I'll be interested to find out.

Well, I don't know about bikes yet cause mine is a 2005. But as for my 2000 Cavalier with 5% tint all the way around, it passes, though the tint is illegal in EVERY STATE in the country. It costs me $50.00 to get the car inspected and passed, whereas a normal car would only cost like $28.00. I just give it to the guys before they inspect it and be like, "Buy yourself some dinner or something with what's left over." That has worked in NY, CO and here in Texas so it should work if you try it.

so here's the latest news on my inspection. my father in law sent me to a guy he uses for inspections and he was willing to inspect my bike without hesitation over the undertail kit. i would have gotten stickered if i had taken notice to my right front turn signal being burnt out. needless to say, i need that fixed before it will pass, of course. i'm such a moron. at least i have no worries about the modifications. that's a relief. and i didn't even hafta use my "assets." so once that is fixed, it should be smooth sailing. thanks to all! :twfrox:

When MI had emissions testing there was always someplace you could go to get a "slip" that showed you passed... it's funny though... my car was never started or stuck?

I asked the tech about PA's inspection requirements when I ihad my bike in the shop a couple weeks ago.
He said they do not do a emissions test on a bike. So my Yoshi race exhause it good.
All lights have to be DOT approved. Mine are not, I need to put my OEM turn signals back on for inspection only.
Also the way my FOX raceing shock is mounted up with zip ties will not pass either.
The guy is really cool, hell I drank 5 beers with the guy and BS'd with him for a long time at the end of the day. He said he is real strict on turn signals because he had a close call rideing behind someone one time, and he couldn't see the small after market signals. He also said he will let my race shock slide. I still gotta put the OEM signals on tho. Oh yeah and my rear tire will not pass inspection right now either. I got till October when my KY tags expire so I will wait till then to convert to PA.

Damn you guys have inspections? We don't have shiit out here. We just bring proof of insurance and we're good to go.
that's what I was use to in KY, but I had to pay 6% of what ever the vehicle was worth on Jan 1st of the year. (property taxes) Every state makes their $$$$ somehow.

I think that's what they do in NV cuz there is no state taxes. But if you're in the military stationed in NV you are exempt as long as you don't have a NV license. It's 33 bucks a year no matter what you drive/ride.
