Well since my old brain bucket dropped to the floor the other night (again) and the visor mechanism broke becaue of it (again), I decided to just get a new one and keep the Scorpion as a spare. Got an HJC AC-11 Revenge. Nothing spectacular, but it does the job and fits very well... nice and comfortable just like the Scorpion was. Kinda weird finish.. the red part is like a chromed red and very reflective... sucks trying to take pics with a flash cuz it all looks grey (took these without). You can even see me in a few of the pics, LOL. This one is noticeablly lighter as well, although the HJC I wear a small compared to a medium for the Scorpion. I'm happy with it so far though :)

nice lid

my Mainframe currently has a broken visor mechanism, slid off my bike when i was putting my jacket on... stupid me! :upset:

how much were the parts to fix it last time?
Thanks!!

That's exactly what mine did... had it sitting on the tank putting on my jacket and I bumped it or something and down it went, bounced a few times, visor flies off, LOL. But I called them to see about buying a new mechanism (explained what happened) and the dude says "well since it was dropped it's not covered under warranty, and we don't really sell the parts seperate... but I can just send you one anyways". So I said  They sent me a new mechanism free of charge, no shipping or nothing. Nice people they are :)

You mean no problems other than breaking the shield mechanics twice in simple drops...
Hahah... pretty much, yea  It landed just in the right spot both times, and snap! Remember though the Scorpion has those uber-easy quick release thingys for the visor, so the knobs do kinda stick out a little and there's little springs and such inside, so they are kinda susceptible to that sorta stuff I guess

Hopefully only after you have it checked out and re-certified...

Well, I'll have to keep that in mind...

Nice looking helmet! I really considered the AC-11. The only thing that kept me from buying one was the ventilation. I have the CL-14 and it does not do so great in that dept. I did not think the AC-11 would do much better. I am sitting behind a small windshield which kinda screws up the airflow. I do have better ventilation though with the Scorpion.

Thanks for the compliments!! :) It cost $250 at a local MC shop (Competition Cycle... great place!) + $25 for the dark smoke visor, so with tax and everything $291 total. Not all too bad I don't think... same price as the Scorpion was ($244). Anyways, still happy with it... it's getting broken in a little more now so it loosened up a bit. It does indeed match the bike pretty good too, and my black & red jacket and backpack as well.

JK, were you able to get ahold of somebody and get those parts to fix your visor mechanism?

I use to set my helmet on the seat or tank until I had one fall once. Now I will ONLY set it on the ground. It can't fall from there.
